ISLAMIC FESTIVAL

Eid Al-Fitr

Begins on the eve of May 2 and ends on the eve on May 3, 2022.

Curiosity got the best of me and I walked towards the festivities.

There were lots of families here. Children running about with a soccer ball. Other kids were in the inflatable play structures. Vendors displaying various types of items. Thanked a couple of vendors who gladly spent a bit of their time to explain the reason for the Festival. You can learn something new every day!!

Ramadan – one of the holiest months in the Islamic calendar – comes to an end with the Festival of Eid al-Fitr. The dates for Ramadan vary each year because the Islamic calendar follows the phases of the Moon, commonly known as the lunar cycle.

Canada Post celebrates Islamic Festival Eid al-Fitr with a new stamp

Canada Post is issuing a new stamp, April 3, 2023, that displays a bowl, crafted nearly 700 years ago, in medieval Iran. It became a part of the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) collection in 1909.
